Date & Time:
Race will be held November 13th on the trails rain or shine. Starting time for both races will be 8am. On-site registration and packet pickup will be available from 6:30 - 7:30am. The race promoter reserves the right to postpone the event due to severe weather. (Back to Top)

10K
The race will start below the Visitor’s Center and go up a short paved section to the OVT trail head on the right. The OVT trail will continue for approximately 2.0 miles and intersect with the Shiner’s Loop Trail. Take a right onto the Shiner’s Loop Trail for 2.5 miles until it turns back into the OVT trail. Take a left onto the OVT trail heading back to the Visitors Center; once you are at the trail head take a left down a short asphalt section into the timing chute.
25K
The race will start below the Visitor’s Center and go up a short paved section to the OVT trail head on the right. The OVT trail will continue for approximately 2.0 miles and intersect with the Shiner’s Loop Trail. Take a right onto the Shiner’s Loop Trail for 2.5 miles until it turns back into the OVT trail. Take a right onto the OVT trail up the hill and crossing a paved road. The OVT trail will run approximately 4 miles (crossing a second paved road) and end at the Bandit’s Roost Campground. There will be a turnaround section here that will have the runners going back on the OVT trail toward the Shiner’s Loop trail. Once you have reached the Shiner’s Loop trail intersection, take a left onto Shiner’s Loop for approximately 2.5 miles until it turns back into the OVT trail. Take a left onto the OVT trail heading back to the Visitors Center; once you are at the trail head take a left down a short asphalt section into the timing chute.
Aid stations will be spaced approximately every 2 miles along course. Runners will pass three aid stations during the 10K race and seven during the 25K. (Back to Top)
Awards:
All 25K finishers will receive a custom finisher’s medal. Awards will be given to the top three overall men and women in each race category. Age group awards, three deep, will be given to the following; 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ (Back to Top)

Pre-registration is available online by clicking the link for registration on this web site. A small convenience fee will be added at the time of registration. A paper entry may be downloaded using the same link. Send paper registrations to B&A Johnson, 473 Gilliam Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
